Xtreme Link Analyzer lets you know many interesting statistics about your web-site and your competitors' websites. Within seconds it analyzes the Google and Alexa page rank, then gives you the number of backlinks of all major search engines and finally lets you know how many indexed pages that specific website has.
In case you didn't know, PageRank is Google's way of deciding a page's importance and it varies from 0-10. Alexa ranking on the other hand, comes from the traffic of Alexa Toolbar users. The information is sorted, sifted, anonymized, counted, and computed in order to get the traffic rankings shown in the Alexa service. Elsewhere, backlinks are incoming links to web page. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that page.
Unfortunately, the application doesn't show you the websites that are linking to yours, or why you have received a certain rank by search engines. Although this information can be found manually on the main page of search engines, it would have been useful to have it included in the program. That said, using this application you can get a general idea about where your web site needs to improve, and consider the position of your competitors and their incoming links. The graphic design and the navigation menu are quite poor and the application doesn't feature any comparison graph or the ability to export to a spreadsheet utility.
If you are curious to have a look at your website's rank and the number of backlinks you receive, have a look at Xtreme Link Analyzer, even if ultimately, it's nothing more that an aggregator of information.
